Dollar mixed, gold falls in Europe

(AP) - The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday. Gold fell.
The euro traded at $1.5779, up from $1.5775 late Monday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.5810.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Monday, included 105.72 Japanese yen, down from 106.26; 1.0180 Swiss francs, down from 1.0194; and 1.0221 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0108.
The British pound was quoted at $1.9927, down from $1.9930.
In midday trading in New York, the dollar bought 105.57 yen and 1.0146 Swiss francs, while the pound was worth $1.9954.
Gold traded in London at $929.50 per troy ounce, down from $932.75 late Monday.
