Dollar, gold fall in Europe

(AP) - The U.S. dollar was lower against other major currencies in European trading Wednesday. Gold fell.
The euro traded at $1.5732, up from $1.5657 late Tuesday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.5731.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Tuesday, included 107.12 Japanese yen, down from 107.45; 1.0307 Swiss francs, down from 1.0335; and 1.0115 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0202.
The British pound was quoted at $1.9791, up from $1.9689.
In midday trading in New York, the dollar bought 107.11 yen and 1.0309 francs, while the pound was worth $1.9808.
Gold traded in London at $923.25 per troy ounce, down from $929.25 late Tuesday.
