US dollar mostly lower in Europe

(AP) - The U.S. dollar was mostly lower Friday against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices fell.
The 15-nation euro rose to $1.5868, up from $1.5810 late Thursday in New York.
Other dollar rates compared with late rates Thursday included: 106.29 Japanese yen, down from 106.69; 1.0192 Swiss francs, down from 1.0231, and 1.0051 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0068.
The British pound was quoted at $1.9971, down from $1.9992.
Gold traded in London at $961.50 per troy ounce, down from $965.50 late Thursday.
